Using Music in Your Creative Toolkit

Pat and James dive into music and how it can help or hinder creative work.

For some creatives, like visual artist Kath Montstream and writer James Buchanan, music is an integral part of their working toolkit—in fact, James writes off his Spotify subscription as an office expense. Pat has a different (maybe weirder) approach to using music at work.

Questions for You:

  1. Do you write, act, or paint to music?

  2. If you use music to help yourself create, what kind?

  3. Are you a Spotifyer, a vinyl player, or something in between?
