Meaningful Conversations: What are they & how do you have more of them?

Meaningful conversations and creative work go hand-in-hand. So how do you have more of the former and maybe end up with more of the latter?

What’s a meaningful conversation? What do they look like and who do you have them with? We discuss this topic in the context of creative work and come to a few conclusions:

  • Meaningful conversations are ones that lead to a decision, learning, or inspiration

  • We need to have them as creatives and as human beings, period

  • “Scenes” or “salons” are one way to have them regularly, but we also love random meaningful conversations at cafes, bars, and parties

  • Context is key / space matters

Questions for You:

  1. Are you in the habit of having meaningful conversations?

  2. When’s the last time you had one, and what was it about?

  3. Do you have a ‘scene’ or go to salons in person?
