Is the Simplest Pitch the Best Pitch?

The Gifted Underachievers wonder if a simple pitch does a better job speaking for our work than something longer and/or more complicated.

As with a lot of the stuff by Gifted Underachievers, this segment began with a lot of silliness. From there, it devolved into an exploration of whether we should keep pitches simple, thereby allowing the work to speak louder. Would this lead to more acceptances?

Also, James drops his never-fail pickup line—so…don’t miss that action!

Questions for Listeners

  1. What are your pitch dos and don’ts?

  2. Do you find pitching tedious?

  3. Do you have a process?

  4. What’s the simplest pitch you’ve ever given that succeeded?
