Gatekeepers & Qualifications

When pitching for a job, grant, or your creative work, do you have meet every qualification? Are lists of qualifications merely a set of gatekeeper aspirations?

Often, we can self-limit or self-edit our pitches and who we pitch to based on the qualifications listed by gatekeepers. But do we have to meet every item on their list to pitch? Are gatekeepers just listing their aspirations? How should we navigate pitching when we don’t meet all of the qualifications but believe we are a good fit, nonetheless? In this segment, Pat and James explore these questions and more.
